Embroidery Foundation Series - 5 sessions

  • Coven of Stitches 1602 Webster Street Alameda, CA, 94501 United States (map)

In this series we will focus on stitch structure and technique based on stitch family.  We will practice the stitches outside the confines of a design.  Learn the basics of embroidery to be able to follow kit instructions easily or design our own embroideries.  Beginners are welcome as well as experienced embroiderers who want to brush up on technique. We will go over the following stitch groups, Back, Looped, Straight (including Satin), Knotted, Crossed and Composite, Woven, Couched and Laid.

If you really want to take the series but can’t make one of the classes I will make sure you get all the stitch instructions and information you need for the missed class to get the complete embroidery foundation experience.

A kit of muslin, needle, and thread will be provided the first day of class.  If needed another kit may be purchased for later classes at $5 each.  You are also welcome to bring your own supplies.  Hoops, scissors, and design tools will be supplied.

Classes will be from 1PM to 3PM Saturdays January 17, January 31, February 7, February 21, February 28. Class fee $200.

You can register here.
