Introduction to Bead Embroidery with Onna Schwindt

Onna Schwindt is the instructor for this fun and informative class. Onna has 35 years experience with beading and is a great teacher. I wish I had this class when I was adding beads to my embroidery!

This Introduction to Bead Embroidery class will guide you through the essential stitches and techniques used to sew beads onto fabric. Using seed beads, bugle beads, and shaped beads, you’ll create a bead‑embroidered mandala you can display.  We’ll also explore how to choose the right threads, needles, and bead types for a smoother stitching experience.  Whether you’re an experienced embroiderer wanting to add dimension and texture to their work, or a beginner who’s curious about beadwork, this class will offer a great introduction.  Some comfort with needle and thread work is helpful, but not necessary.

Class fee: $55

A required $15 cash kit fee includes fabric, pattern, thread, needle, and beads. Please bring your own scissors. Embroidery hoops will be available to use during class.

Registration is now open. Please register online here.
