Private Class Feedback

“Recently I was lucky enough to have a private lesson on a new embroidery technique with Laura. She went over the technique step by step, answering all of my questions, clarifying things that I didn’t initially understand, and demonstrating the new (to me) stitching methods. Laura observed my stitching, provided feedback, encouragement, and super helpful hints. Laura is an expert embroiderer, artist, and teacher. I highly recommend her!”

“Laura's knowledge of embroidery (stitches, technique, design, supplies) is encyclopedic. She is a patient and thorough teacher who will help you get to the next level as you develop your own interests and style. She will also offer guidance on issues like developing designs and transferring them to fabric, tools and supplies, and sources of inspiration. I feel so fortunate to have an artist like Laura available to teach me.”

A group of friends and I hired Laura to teach us a week long class.  She was extremely knowledgeable and skilled in embroidery and  taught in a professional manner.  She had an organized flow of lessons, clear explanations of the stitches, and a good set up for demonstration.  She was patient with us beginners, provided encouragement, adjusted the pace of the lessons when needed, was willing to redo any of the demos, and answered any questions that arose.  She was flexible with our needs and modified the plan based on new interests that arose within the class as the week went on.  She also shared a variety of materials with us to try out, like hoops, stands, lights, and threads.  She’s clearly passionate about her love of embroidery and willingness to share it with others.  It was a truly amazing week!   We had fun, learned a lot, and felt like we walked away with a lot of inspiration for the art of stitching.  I would highly recommend her as a teacher!!

“Can’t recommend Laura’s private group embroidery class highly enough. From initial scoping and scheduling conversations to setup, the day of our event to participants’ individual questions during, Laura was extremely responsive and accommodating—and the event itself was a hit! Laura coached us beginners with clarity and patience, sharing her robust knowledge of the techniques and field of embroidery in an accessible and fun way. As we wrapped up our class with Laura, I was already starting to think about planning another one for my friends who couldn’t make it this time!”
