Online "Mental Wellness and the Art of Embroidery"

  • San Mateo Library 55 West 3rd Avenue San Mateo, CA, 94402 United States (map)

The Bead Society of Northern California is hosting an an online live presentation of my talk and has generously opened it up to the general public! If you can’t make it to one of the live talks this is a great option. And, if you sign up and can’t make the April 21st date the recording will be made available to you for a limited time.

Embroidery is an ancient art dating back to the beginning of civilization.  It developed in cultures all around the globe.  It has been an appreciated and valued art form through the centuries and now is being discovered and recognized for a different reason. It’s good for mental health and wellness.

I will share my personal journey of 50+ years embroidering and how it has helped my wellbeing. I will also show examples of how embroidery is being used to help many people like the organizations that have been working with veterans and prisoners.  I will also show some local artist’s work and discuss how the work was beneficial to their wellness.

Registration for this online event is $5 (processing fee) and to register email judysinclair@beadsocietyofnorcal.org‍ ‍Please note registration closes Saturday April 18th.
