Free Talk "Mental Wellness and the Art of Embroidery" in Livermore

  • Livermore Library Civic Center branch 1188 South Livermore Avenue Livermore, CA, 94550 United States (map)

Embroidery is an ancient art dating back to the beginning of civilization.  It developed in cultures all around the globe.  It has been an appreciated and valued art form through the centuries and now is being discovered and recognized for a different reason. It’s good for mental health and wellness.

I will share my personal journey of 50+ years embroidering and how it has helped my wellbeing. I will also show examples of how embroidery is being used to help many people like the organizations that have been working with veterans and prisoners.  I will also show some local artist’s work and discuss how the work was beneficial to their wellness.
